"Chome, tell me again: why are we stalking sensei?" - Shikari

The Ino-Shika-Cho-trio is... chaperoning Niigata on her way through Konoha. Chome heard in passing something about their sensei and a date and managed to convince her teammates that they really should make sure, that whomever Niigata is meeting is worthy of her. No one believed her reasoning, mostly because both knew of her gossip-y ways and her gleeful attitude did nothing to discourage that notion.
Still, both obliged her demand to follow her. Inosaki because he actually wanted to make sure, that Niigata was seeing someone who would know to treat her right, while Shikari just came to the conclusion that it would be too much of a bother to try and argue with her and decided to humor her instead, all the while making sure, that Chome wouldn't kill herself and Saki in her excitement.
Not all that invested in her sensei's love life herself, Kari choose to treat the whole thing as something like training for stealth and tactical thinking. Still, she is silently questioning some of her life choices as well as the craziness of Chome and some of her hobbies/interests, even though she lets herself get dragged through Konoha for the better part of the day.

Oh, and Niigata noticed her students following her in the first ten minutes of the whole thing, but decided to test their abilities and see when they would give up. Turns out, that accepting defeat is something neither of them knows how to do, least of all gracefully if the offended muttering of Chome is to be believed, when she instead of going on a romantic date just met up with her oldest childhood friend to catch up over some tea.
